M18 Ultrasonic 200, 700mm range
Contrinex 1180C/1181C and 1180W/1181W ultrasonic M18 sensors are ready-to-connect compact devices.
Two modes of sensing:
- M18 Diffuse sensors with background suppression. 30..200mm and 100..700mm ranges.
- M18 Reflex sensors. 0..200mm and 0..700mm ranges.
These devices are available in standard short cylindrical housings and also the right angle sensing format.
Diffuse sensors.
With diffuse sensors, the target functions as a reflector. As soon as an object enters the preset sensing area, its echo causes the device to switch.
Reflex sensors.
In the case of reflex sensors, a fixed reflector (e.g. a small metal plate) is mounted facing the device. The switching range is set to this reflector. If an object comes between the ultrasonic proximity switch and the reflector, the sensor no longer recognizes the latter, which causes the output to switch.
Each model has a PNP N.O. switching output. Sensitivity can be adjusted by means of teach-in via the device connection. The lack of a potentiometer prevents the adjustment from being willfully changed.
